US Rifleman standing and aiming his weapon.

Breathing and Control Breathing affects the state of aiming for a player, hindering or helping depending on the situation.

Gameplay Details

Breathing affects the state of your weapon when trying to aim. Sprinting causes heavier breathing. Crouching will allow you to get your breath back more quickly; going prone even quicker still. To the player and his surroundings, noises are produced when breathing, so it is a disadvantage when trying to avoid unwanted attention.

  • When trying to control breath while on a mounted or deployed machine gun, it zooms in on the iron sights.
  • Suppression makes it more difficult to control breath, sometimes even cancelling it out.
