Gameplay Details

The UH-1H “Bushranger” is armed with heavy weapons intended to destroy enemy positions. The Bushranger is a very important helicopter, as its presence along with a good pilot and gunner can become a threat to the North Vietnamese. With aerial advantage, the Cobra can fly over enemy positions from above, wiping at any advancing infantry or defended positions. It should be kept in mind that the Bushranger's munitions are quite limited on its ammo, and can run dry very quickly; due to the Bushranger's limited amount of rockets, they should always be prioritized for more important targets, such as those like Squad Tunnels, denying the enemy a forward spawning position. Should the Bushranger run low on its ammunition, it can be returned to base to be rearmed once more. The Bushranger also features two dual mounted M60 GPMG door guns, allowing any team mate on the battlefield to spawn inside the helicopter; alternatively though, the Bushranger can be used to transport their passengers to other locations despite being limited to two door gunners, as it is seen more useful for players to be on the battlefield than as a door gunner.

The gunner only has access to the minigun. Although lacking in the variety of weapons such as explosives, the minigun can be useful for suppressing enemy positions both advancing and defending. The minigun is also able to penetrate buildings and structures of thicker materials that normal firearms cannot, killing or severely wounding anyone hiding behind said structure.

Trivia

  • The Bushranger is an exclusive helicopter to the ANZAC forces.
  • Despite having dual mounted M60 GPMG door guns, they fire at the same rate as a normal door gun, and carry the same amount of ammunition, making no actual difference in terms of stats.
  • If timed correctly, a pilot can lift the helicopter while switching seats, lifting the helicopter into the air with no pilot in the pilot's seat. The helicopter will be stuck there until the pilot or helicopter is killed; due to the capabilities of the gunner seat, the pilot is able to take control of the helicopter unlike some other helicopters.
